That's Right, A mentoring  program and an internship  program combined.

Founded in 2017 in Detroit, MI, The Menternship was created to support the personal and professional development of young Black and Brown women by blending the tenets of mentorship and an internship. At the intersection of character, career and community impact, our mission is to build a network of globally competent women with hearts to serve.

Since our founding, The Menternship has expanded beyond Detroit to host programming in Los Angeles. In our nine-week program, three college undergraduate women are immersed in high-influence industries amongst leading minds in media, entertainment, sports and fashion.  Previous partners include The Oprah Winfrey Network, Viacom, Nike, Magic Johnson Enterprises, Ralph Lauren, BET and more.

With the support of our partners, programming provides a comprehensive introduction to brand strategy, creative marketing and business operations through hands-on project support, educational lectures and round table discussions. Simultaneously, the Menterns receive high-performance training and one-on-one mentoring to establish resilient habits of wellness, self-awareness and leadership.

Programming culminates into an all-expense-paid, one-week business trek from Los Angeles to Detroit, MI, where Menterns are exposed to the innovative wave of social entrepreneurship in the Motor City.  Each year, the business trek inspires our Menterns to use their skills, talents and business acumen to make a positive impact on their communities.  Menterns complete programming equipped with the tools and resources necessary to lead as women of integrity, wisdom and conviction.

While programming for 2020 has been canceled due to COVID-19, our mission remains the same. We will continue to serve Black and Brown women virtually through events, private mentoring sessions and more. Connect with us on Instagram to stay up to date!
